Set between Gunnison and Crested Butte, is the small and inviting town of Almont, Colorado. The Taylor River and East River meet in Almont and become the Gunnison River as it flows southwest.
Almont was originally the place where miners brought ore to be transported by railway to Gunnison. The tranquil location and beautiful setting, however, kept residents around long after the mining boon ended.
It is well known for its rustic cabins that still dot the landscape, ideal fishing conditions, horseback riding, river rafting, and wildlife viewing. It truly seems like one of the last small peaceful towns standing in today’s hectic world.
If living in a place where time seems to stand still sounds right up your alley, then give me a call and I would be happy to show you some beautiful Almont Real Estate. The beauty of living in an Almont home is that you can be surrounded by nature, wildlife and tranquility, but still not be far off from the more populous communities of Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley.
