41st Annual Crested Butte Arts Festival, Crested Butte, August 2 – 4: If you’re curious which weekend draws the biggest crowds in the Crested Butte area, it has to be the Crested Butte Arts Festival. All 50 states are represented, and world-class artists and international exhibitors display their wares in open-air booths along five blocks in the National Historic District. Come for the art, and stay for the live entertainment, the beer and wine pavilion, chef’s demonstrations, and more!
Fall Festival of Beers & Chili Cook-Off, Mt. Crested Butte, September 7: When the weather heats up, it’s the perfect time for a beer festival. Fortunately, the Crested Butte summers extend into September, which is when the Fall Festival of Beers and Chili Cook-Off is taking place at the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort ski area. Local contestants will compete for the top prize and attendees can sample their chills while enjoying beers from several microbreweries. Of course, there will be live music to round-out the event!
Crested Butte Film Festival, Crested Butte, September 26 – 29: The Crested Butte Film Festival always takes place the last weekend in September, and this year is no different. For four days, film buffs can get together for viewings, sit-in on discussions with filmmakers, and participate in other film-related activities. Over 90 films will be screened during the four-day event, including children’s films and international debuts. You can purchase passes online at http://www.cbfilmfest.org, and individual tickets will be sold at the door.
