When January arrives, it’s easy to assume that the festive spirit of Gunnison County has been spent. If anything, as upcoming events suggest, the fun is just beginning along the nearly 2 million miles of Gunnison-Crested Butte valley. And they are not all skiing-centric. Of course, Gunnison County features some of the best skiing, snowboarding and snow sports activities in the world, but there’s plenty to do even for those not looking for fun on the slopes, or even out in the wild. Starting in early January, Gunnison-Crested Butte Valley will host concerts and music festivals, art shows and car shows and cultural exposures throughout the winter.
Still, it goes without saying that skiing remains a top priority for residents and tourists. Rest assured, there are a number of skiing, lodging and resort promotions also ongoing. And a quick visit to the Gunnison-Crested Butte Tourism Association webpage feature a number of vacation packages. The point is that the 31+ miles of picture-perfect mountain landscapes, rivers and forests provide diversions and opportunities to explore year-round, not just during the holiday season. If anything, the post-holiday months are often the most enticing as they are less crowded and more affordable.
I have been proudly serving and promoting Gunnison County’s real estate market for years and endeavor to do so for many more. These ongoing events only reinforce what I and the citizens already know: that Gunnison County is a wonderful place to live, work and connect with an amazing landscape. I can only hope that one day you will consider Gunnison County real estate, if not as a permanent relocation then perhaps as an inviting second home to escape to at any time of year.
