Begin your day by heading out of the Crested Butte ski village and take a trip to the town’s small downtown. A former coal mining center, Crested Butte’s downtown provides visitors with the distinct southwest Colorado feel. Have breakfast at local restaurant, Izzy’s. A popular brunch spot, the restaurant offers a few tables in the a tiny dining area, but the locals rave that the wait is worth the taste.
For lunch, you can head to the Last Steep. It offers a large variety of menu items to choose from including classic American favorites like burgers, Baja Fish Tacos and a wide variety of salads and sandwiches.
If you’re looking for a snack after spending the day on Crested Butte’s snowy slopes, head downtown and stop by the Dogwood Cocktail Cabin. The tiny cabin is known for their snack foods and inventive cocktails, including the winter squash martini.
Finally, for dinner you can take a walk into the National Historic District of Crested Butte, and stop by the Secret Stash. Considered one of the city’s best pizza parlors, the restaurant includes slanted walls and a South Asian décor. The restaurant also offers pies such as The Hamptons, which includes olive oil, mozzarella, prosciutto, lemon-pepper crust, arugula, Parmesan and lemon crown.
