Urinetown, the Musical, opens tonight at Crested Butte’s Center for the Arts. Pronounced “Yoor ‘n toun” is a satirical Broadway musical comedy attacking the legal system, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement and municipal politics. The story line opens with a twenty-year drought, causing a terrible water shortage, making private toilets unthinkable.

“One of the most uproariously funny musicals in recent years, URINETOWN is a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love, and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold...” -MTI

This Crested Butte Mountain Theatre production, directed by Mona Wood-Patterson with set design by Charles Ford, music by Mark Hollmann, lyrics by Hollmann and Greg Kotis and book by Greg Kotis. Performances run June 21-24, 28-30 and July 1st at the Crested Butte Center for the Arts.
